Star-Spangled Banner Tartan — Fine Art Print Editions

A Scottish Tribute
to America’s 250 Years

A Tribute in Tartan

The Star-Spangled Banner tartan was inspired by America’s flag and anthem and officially registered on Independence Day, July 4th, 2021 (Tartan #13214), with kind permission from the Smithsonian Institution.

Created to honor the United States’ 250th anniversary, each fine art print is a visual interpretation of the anthem and flag, expressed through the symbolic geometry of tartan. Two editions tell the story:

  • THE PAST — muted, timeworn tones echoing the 1814 Great Garrison Flag preserved by the Smithsonian.

  • THE PRESENT — bright, bold colors reflecting the Stars & Stripes as it flies today.

Support the Weave

By choosing a print, you’re not only owning a unique piece of heritage art — you’re helping me take the next step of weaving this tartan into cloth, in both Past and Present editions.

Every order supports this journey from design to fabric, and perhaps even to kilts, plaids, and more in time for America’s 250th anniversary.
