WEAVE UPDATE! We have LiftOff! ...Journey of the Tartans…
Hello, fellow tartan enthusiasts!
…and a message to my loyal customers...
Update on the Earthrise Tartan® and North Sea Oil® (...tartans and kilt runs - 2023)
I hope this notice finds you well and enjoying the summer. Today, I have some important updates to share with you about my two currently promoted tartans:
EARTHRISE ...& NORTH SEA OIL
Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support and patience. Your enthusiasm for both of these tartans from my portfolio has been truly inspiring.
As some of you may know, there have been some unexpected delays in the production schedule. The journey has been a bit more winding than anticipated, with both tartan projects unexpectedly converging. This, while challenging, has also been a source of creative energy and inspiration for me.
"We have LiftOff!"
I’m thrilled to announce that despite these challenges, the weaves for both the Earthrise… and the North Sea Oil tartans, are now booked at the mill (as of Monday 10th July).
This is a significant milestone, and I couldn't have reached it without your unwavering support. Approx. 450m are being ordered, which will be my largest fabric order to date!

Both the Earthrise... and North Sea Oil weaves are now scheduled at the mill!
The delay primarily due to the overwhelming success of the Earthrise tartan launch, coinciding with the same for the North Sea Oil. The response far exceeded my expectations, leading to a much higher number of customer requests than anticipated. This necessitated time out to re-structure my ordering system to ensure I can handle the demand and deliver your orders efficiently.
-
In addition to these challenges I’ve also been dealing with some unexpected family health matters that have required my attention. I appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
-
Rest assured, I’ve taken all necessary measures to ensure a smooth and orderly process moving forward, having also upgraded my record keeping and invoicing system. I’m committed to delivering your orders as smoothly as possible, and will be in touch with each of you individually to finalize your kilt pre-order and provide the necessary invoice shortly.
If you have any questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out to me using my Contact Page. Your satisfaction is my top priority, and I’m here to address any concerns you may have.
-
Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and understanding during this time. Together, we are creating something truly special with these tartans, and I am excited to continue this journey with you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION...
Regarding delivery times
While thrilled to announce that the weaves for the Earthrise and North Sea Oil tartans are now booked at the mill, I want to provide some clarity about the expected delivery times.
Given the volume of yarns being pre-dyed for these custom weaves and the mill's production process, coupled with holidays in the interim period between now and the end of the year, it's likely that I'll face challenges delivering finished kilt orders before the end of the year.
-
The mill has quoted a lead time of 16 weeks, assuming no further production delays (from booking date of 10th July). This means I'm likely to receive the tartan cloth at the beginning of November. After receiving the material, it will take an additional 5 to 6 weeks for kilt-making.
-
Considering the higher than expected number of kilt orders, and many of these require international shipping, it's highly probable that I won't be able to deliver before Christmas (or the end of the year). I want to be transparent about this situation, as I don't want to promise a delivery date that I may not be able to meet due to factors beyond my control.
I understand the excitement and anticipation of receiving your bespoke kilt, and I assure you that I'll do everything within my power to expedite the process where possible. However, I believe it's important for you to have this information to make an informed decision before committing to your order.
I appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me using my Contact Page.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Warm regards,
Stevie, Tartan Guy
